What is the verdict?

Go, Caution, or No-Go for a place you check. HoverDeck compares the conditions it can see with the limits of the profile you are using. Go means those factors sit inside the profile. Caution means something is close to a limit, or a nearby restriction deserves a look. No-Go means a limit is exceeded, or a restriction makes this a poor time to fly.

Does a Go mean I may fly?

No. HoverDeck is not an FAA authorization tool. You are the pilot in command. Use LAANC where authorization is required, and check B4UFLY, or the current official FAA tool, before you launch. If HoverDeck and an official source disagree, follow the official source.

Where do the numbers come from?

Weather, including wind, gusts, and the hourly and daily forecast, comes from Open-Meteo. Space weather, including Kp, comes from NOAA. Airspace context and temporary flight restrictions come from FAA sources. Any of them can be delayed or wrong.

Why is Kp in a drone app?

The Kp index describes geomagnetic activity. Some aircraft, compasses, and GNSS receivers have a worse day when it climbs. HoverDeck puts that next to the wind so you are not hunting a second app when space weather is the interesting part of the briefing.

What does airspace and TFR awareness mean?

For the pin you check, HoverDeck shows FAA airspace context and whether a temporary flight restriction is indicated. It is a planning view, not a clearance and not a promise that the chart will stay still. Confirm with B4UFLY and the FAA’s TFR listing before you launch.

What is a job mode?

Real Estate, FPV, and the other profiles do not judge the same sky by the same limits. A low photo orbit around a house and a freestyle flight care about different wind. The mode retunes the verdict. It does not change the regulations, and it does not make a site safe.

What is free, and what is Pro?

Free includes:

  • Go, Caution, and No-Go for a place you check
  • Wind and gusts for that place
  • Kp at a glance
  • FAA airspace and TFR awareness for the pin

HoverDeck Pro adds:

  • Everything in Free
  • Wind at the altitude you set
  • Full hourly and daily forecasts
  • Job modes, including Real Estate and FPV
  • Home Screen widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch
  • A wider space-weather read when Kp climbs

The verdict itself stays free. Apple shows the exact Pro price before you subscribe. See pricing.

How does the subscription renew, and how do I cancel?

HoverDeck Pro is a one-year auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple, about $20–30 a year in the U.S. before tax. The purchase sheet shows the exact price. It renews unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage it in Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it. The full language is in the subscription terms.

Do I need an account?

No. You can check a forecast without one. An account is optional, with email or Sign in with Apple, and it stores profile preferences you choose to save, such as units, job mode, and saved places. Accounts are handled with Supabase.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, delete the account from account settings. That removes the account and the profile preferences stored with it. It does not cancel an Apple subscription, and Apple keeps its own purchase record. If you cannot reach the control, email support from the address on the account.

Where is my location used?

On the device, to build a forecast for where you are or for a place you select. We do not sell location and we do not use it for ads. The forecast request sends coordinates to the data source that can answer. Saved places are stored with your account only if you save them there. Details are in the privacy policy.

Widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch?

Those surfaces are part of HoverDeck Pro, so the verdict is available off the main phone screen while you are on a job. They show the same kind of planning aid as the phone. They are still not permission to fly.

When can I download it?

Not yet. The App Store badge on this site says Coming soon on purpose. There is no TestFlight link and no store URL until the app is actually listed.
